Vintage Chess Set from Mexico (Cowboys vs Indians) on Mayan Aztec Board
This beautiful set has both Mayan and Aztec elements; the board has a Mayan motif, and the chess pieces represent the Cowboys and Indians battling each other on the game board. The mold for each figure was created from a hand-carved original, then resin and stone were mixed and poured into the mold. Each piece was finished by hand.
The storage board measures approximately 21” square x 5” tall. The playing area measures approximately 15 1/2” square. "Kings" are 6" Tall
Vintage Mexican hand carved stone Aztec Mayan chess set. Each square of the board depicts different icons from Mexico's indigenous history. Handmade wood and stone board holds the pieces. Minor scuff marks around the edges. All pieces included in good condition. Looks better than the pictures.  Hard to find and desirable set.
